President Ghani Accepts the Letter of Credence of Sri Lanka's New Envoy to Afghanistan


Kabul: - Following a welcoming ceremony, President Ashraf Ghani received the newly appointed Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Afghanistan, Mr. Piyal De Silva, and accepted his letter of credence at the Presidential Palace. President Ghani took note of the growing bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, and wished Ambassador De Silva success in his mission, helping further deepen Afghanistan-Sri Lanka ties. 

Ambassador De Silva reaffirmed his Government's commitment to further expanding bilateral ties with Afghanistan. To that end, he said he would strive during his tenure to help achieve the shared goals of both sides. 

The President was accompanied by Foreign Minister Mohammed Haneef Atmar.
